When Missing Loved Ones Becomes a Lifestyle
I grew up missing people. My father was a visitor human being — a corporate nomad — so when it came time to motility again, nosotros packed upwardly and went where the career opportunities led him.
The only place he e'er declined to move was Utah. That's considering no one in their right mind agrees to motion to Utah. (Hey, no offense.)
Growing up, I missed friends, neighbors, and classmates across six states. Relationships were temporary. Living hundreds of miles from relatives, we visited them one time or twice a year. For seven years, my dad worked 2nd shift and so he could climb that corporate ladder; oftentimes I missed him, too.
When I attended higher, naturally information technology was out-of-state. Then, I landed a corporate job much like his and connected the nomadic lifestyle of corporate relocations and missing people.
Once I became a parent, yet, I sought to ensure that my ain daughter didn't grow upwardly missing people she loved. I wanted to give her the gift of being "from" somewhere. I wanted to give her the gift of not continually feeling loss or separation from all that was familiar.
Nosotros now live a stone'south throw from my parents and other family unit. Corporate nomads somewhen notice their oasis, and it's rarely at the elevation of the organizational ladder.

"Tears in Heaven" and others are so poignant. The songs that touched my heart later on losing loved ones may non even have been ones like this, only ones that nosotros used to sing together or had other meanings. Fourth dimension does heal the initial pain of losing loved ones, hard as that is to believe when we first lose loved ones.
As to your daughter, having a home base and long-lasting friendships, she is fortunate. Some families accept no choice in the matter. I am thinking of military machine families, those who serve as diplomats, etc.

Alright Flourish, these are all great "Missing You Songs" but in one case ane puts God and Christ 1st in ane's life, they will not have time or space to miss anyone from a romantic human relationship ever again. Y'all may have broken a heart and moved on also as vice versa. Nevertheless, not bad hub and voted upwardly!

poetryman6969 - My husband's mother used a command for "get yourself together" -- information technology was "tighten up." She was a woman who with a high school didactics supported three young kids after her married man had a massive stroke at age 33 (and lived but needed to learn how to walk, talk and feed himself). All her life, I am certain that she missed the homo he used to be and the life she used to have. But you lot didn't hear her griping. People could borrow a skillful role model. Thanks for reading. Some overnice writing and some proficient tunes.
The juxtaposition of songs about real, raw actual emotion to some of the made upwardly nonsense concerning "micro-aggressions" on college campuses today is startling. We used to use things like music to cope with anxiety and depression. Then we moved to drugging virtually a whole social club and now we are outset to see a generation that human activity as if they are so frail you can't fifty-fifty ask where they were born for fear of pain their feelings.
